Having been born a raised in Northern Ontario, of love for the outdoors was instilled in Mark at an early age. Although he began his art career creating portraits for the sports industry, his true love of nature quickly took over.
Mark paints on everything natural such as feathers, wood, antlers, hides, rocks and leaves.
" What could be more natural for a wildlife artist to paint on than what was created by Mother Nature herself? The medium becomes part of the artwork. It dictates the final outcome of the piece. I just follow where it takes me."
After teaching at Niagara College for several years, Mark became a full time artist in 2002. His work sells all over the world and is also used to raise funds for conservation organizations. In 2014, Mark took a five year hiatus from painting to persue other interests.
He now resides in Port Colborne with his two children and continues to paint in both wildlife and sports portraits.
