Our Lady of the Picts

Francie McGlynn

This assemblage is made with a paper mache mask over a small bird's nest. I use many recycled items and in this case the body is covered in repurposed wolf fur. I lived in Yukon for twelve years and the fur is from my old parka. It gives the figure a wildness that ventures into a spiritual realm and suggests a time of Pre-Christian / Christian transition.
